Hey Scholars,
This week we are talking about cell growth and reproduction as well as what happens when this growth becomes uncontrolled. There is a factoid that says 3 out of 4 people will be directly affected by some type of cancer throughout their lives. I know that this is a scary statistic for most of you but science is working hard to find a cure or at least battle all types of cancer. I'm sure you are all aware by now of my direct connection with cancer (my dad having throat cancer from years of smoking) but I'm sure people close to you have been affected by cancer as well. For this weeks post you have two choices you can blog about someone close to you that has been affected by cancer and tell their story.... or... you can enlighten us with new cancer treatments that are being developed.
Have A Great Week

i was affected by cancer when i was in 9th grade i had a girlfriend who keep having tumors in her neck and i member her asking me if i would visit her in the hospital and 4 some reason i couldnt go and i didnt hear from her 4 a while i kept tryin 2 get in touch wit her but i couldnt and
out of nowhere her sisters boyfriend told me she died. the doctors hit a vein when they were taking out her tumor. i remember seeing her cold pale face it was one of the sadest days of mt life
but for some reason she was smiling at me.
I don't know anyone personally that has cancer. I have friends the have family and friends with some type of cancer. Although I do have breast cancer in my family history(moms side). It seems to have skipped my grandma and my mom but that doesn't mean it wont hit me. I have however never met any females in my family that have been affected by breast cancer. Most have died from the cancer. The last two I know of that have survived are my grandmas sister and her aunt. Although I have never met them, My grandma tells me stories about their battle for cancer
