Week 10: Who Dun It?

Hey Scholars!!!

This week is our CSI week of Genetics. We have talked about bloodtyping and now we are discussing DNA Fingerprinting. For this weeks post you can either research and find out what bloodtype you are (hint: look at your birth cert.) or you can find a news article where DNA FingerPrinting helped solve a criminal case.

Good Luck Detectives

Sincerely,

Mr. D

Hey.

So... I asked my parents if they knew what blood type I was and they didn't, but they did know what they were so because of the punnet square I came up with these possibilities that I could be.

My father is O (ii) and my mom is A (IAIA or IAi) with this I discovered my phenotype would be blood type A if my mother was IAIA. If my mom is IAi then my phenotype is A or O. My genotype would be 0IAIA:4IAi:0ii if my mom’s genotype is IAIA, if my mom is IAi then my genotype would be 0IAIA:3IAi:1ii.

Hey Mr.Dillman,

My blood type is O. I asked my mother, since mothers know best. My mom thinks she is pretty positive. So I am going with that. :)

Hey, Mr. Dillman!
I asked my mom about my blood type...and she could'nt tell me. So we called around and we are probably going to get some blood tests run (since its probably good to be tested..)Maybe, I'll even be different than my twin sister!

Anyway, I tried to find a crime solved by DNA fingerprinting. Here goes:
