To the scholars,
Welcome to Week 12 of our online discussion, I'm sure most of you already have strong opinions on the issue of Global Warming but if you haven't already heard of Al Gore's: An Inconvenient Truth than I wanted to introduce to you an interesting way of thinking on the issue of Global Warming. As you hear this point of view please don't think its a scientific law... It is a THEORY (data to support but not proven over and over again.) This weeks information isn't meant to change your way of thinking merely to challenge it. Lets hear your opinions on Al Gore's: An Inconvenient Truth

I do not think they should have used pictures of hurricane Katrina in the preview ONLY because it wasnt that bad of a storm. New Orleans was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Their city is BELOW sea level. There is severe flooding in most hurricanes so when you put 2 and 2 together, you get a city under water. Global warming is natural but things people do speed it up. Its not all natural and its not all from humans. Its the combination of both.
i agree with austin for the most part. On the contrast, I disagree on the fact that hurricane Katrina wasn't that bad. It was a natural disaster! Yes, New Orleans was in the wrong place at the same time but there are alot of other places that are under sea level so a natural disaster like Hurricane Katrina could happen to any one of those places like they showed in the video. I think global warming is something we should take more seriously because we should take care of the planet God has blessed us with. But I don't think that it is something that can end the world. We just need to take care of the earth like we take care of our own homes.
i think we can work harder to at least slow down global warming, and its been brought to students attention alot about recycling and what not but there alot of people who dont seem to care at all.
